A rough day

Yesterday, Tuesday (4/6), I got my 2nd COVID-19 jab. I had only a little soreness in my arm for the first, but the 2nd … a tough night with really bad arm pain when I moved … ok when I stilled, but I think I woke every time I moved in my sleep so Wednesday started with that feeling of “I need more sleep” … BUT, I knew from 1st jab, that if I got up and moved around, the arm pain would go away and it did.

But, I was still in a state of too little sleep and also slight chills (nothing like teeth chattering kind of thing), mild nausea, fatigue …

So, side affects or just lack of sleep … whatever. After a short, a medium and a long walk with Emmett, I gave up and took a nap.

Did some work.

Everything kind of felt like it took horrendous effort.

Skipping forward to this evening … MUCH better. I did have an afternoon nap and considered a 2nd, but pushed through.

Ultimately, I got about 1/2 day of work done, nearly normal Emmett out and about and play, and fed us both – HURRAY!!

I think we will be good to go tomorrow with “normal” energy.

Don’t normally have any problem with shots, but 24 hours after the 1st one it felt like my arm was coming off. For 10 days I could not sleep on that side because it was so sore from shoulder to elbow. Got my 2nd one, halfway expecting who knows what, but the only thing was feeling like a deflated balloon for 2-3 days…no pain, fever or anything else, just no energy. The body is a strange thing. Glad you’re doing better!

I’m same with shots: flu, etc. I was thinking this morning about your “body is a strange thing” comment … it is kind of like troubleshooting computer issues. There are so many variables on any one person’s system, it can be tricky to go beyond the symptoms to get to the real problem. I imagine that is somewhat the thing with medications and vaccines. It will be interesting to see what happens with the next round … I believe from what I read, that just like annual flu shot, we will be getting annual or every 6 month of this type of vaccine.

I also think we will be getting regular yearly shots along with our flu shots…would be nice if they could combine them! I will not object at all. Better safe than sorry. My Covid shots were the Moderna version, but my daughter got the Pfizer version and she had no problems. Your photos today are lovely. We only had 2 light dustings of snow this year…so disappointing.

Thank you! Interesting the Moderna and Pfizer … who knows? As you said … “body is a strange thing”!

I hope by now you are feeling back to normal. These vaccinations are a bit scary. I am due for mine at the end of May and the second in June. Which vaccine did you get?

I had the Pfizer vaccine. And yes, back to normal. Kind of crazy as the whole thing ended like a 24 hour bug … suddenly, last evening, I felt fine, albeit a bit tired. I slept soundly and feel 100% today – YEA!!
