On Aging Gracefully: PASSION!

“From CBS Sunday morning: Barbara Van Cleve is 84, born and bred in Montana, and she still runs cattle with the best. She is also a photographer with a passion for chronicling the ranching life she learned as a child, especially the lives of ranch women. Barry Petersen reports.”

I want to be Barbara Van Cleve’s BFF! Because … she is passionate about ranching, horses and photography! Passion being the key word. I am always drawn to people who are passionate about some good thing. I do not know Barbara except via a short CBS Sunday morning video. But she is a person who LIVES. To me …. a hero, a role model, a reminder that no matter how things are in my life, for myself to always return to those things that I love.

THAT – living life with passion, with heart – THAT is living the God given life and I hope, hope, hope that I NEVER forget that!

I found your blog through the email from Boondockers Welcome. I regularly look at the new places to boondock, all the while looking forward to the day when I’m back in a Rv. Right now I’m caring for my husband so rving has to wait.
I too found Barbara Van Cleve inspiring. Your pictures and Auggie and Emmett are beautiful. I admire your living life deliberately with your work which you enjoy and in a place and way that comforts you. You are an inspiration too.
My passion is quilting. I thank God every day for bring the art and the fellow quilters into my life.
I hope you are still a boondockers host when I am finally able to be back on the road. In the meantime I’ll enjoy your blog and the beautiful pictures.
BTW, what is in the jar in the bread picture? I too bake bread and I’ll have to find some einkorn flour.

Hello Linda! Your comment made me day, although I am sorry for your husband’s illness or injury. Thank you so much for your thoughtful words and for finding the blog! And I am happy to hear that you have a passion in quilting and the friends that come with that. I look forward to seeing you here on the blog as well as sometime on the road or right here on my property. The woods here is magic – really! The jar with the bread: broccoli sprouts :) That is a new sprouter. I’ve tried various and I really like this one for ease and it is just visually attractive compared to others I tried. Einkorn flour: I buy from http://www.breadtopia.com, BUT Jovial Brand Einkorn is available in all of my local natural food stores and even my regular grocery. It is available in berries, “whole wheat” and “white”. Know that I will keep you in my prayers.
