Early November: entering the dark times

We did Fall back Sunday last.

We are in the “dark times” of less than 10 hours of daylight with another nearly 2 months to go until Winter Solstice.

I confess that I would not like to be any further north, but I do love the increased dark for the amount of time that we have it: cozy nights and mornings with fire and low lights.

All of the seasons and all of the light and dark – I enjoy!

Emmett came home with me just after we did Spring forward. We had a bit of snow when he was tiny. It will be fun to see what he thinks when we have snow again! The forecast is for a “warm winter” – BLECH!! We’ll see.

Meanwhile…

I love the photo where they are sitting side by side and looking out. Emmett has certainly grown a lot. We are having a weirdly warm November here with temperatures in the 20°Cs every day and there are still flies and mosquitos around.

I love that photo, too! Yes, Emmett has grown! I think the growth has slowed down and should be more of a “filling out” now. The vet told me 14 months = full grown and Emmett is just approaching 9 months. He is such a joy and I do love that he and Auggie do well together. Compared to last year, it is much warmer here also but we have a winter weather advisory tonight with a forecast of 2-5 inches of snow! We have not had cold weather to freeze the ground so even if we get snow, I don’t think it will last long. BUT, no flies or mosquitos … hope yours go away soon!
