Friday
A good work week slid into an easy Friday as a cloudy afternoon eased into an Autumn evening.
Late afternoon walk by Echo Lake.
A perfect stick.
Golden afternoon…
A sunset reflects on the mountains making them as colorful as they were during this morning’s sunrise.
Golden evening…
And the moon rose through those afternoon clouds to shine through the woods and onto the yard where Karl, Bob and I enjoyed the end of Friday.

October Alpenglow
Not as colorful or dramatic as when there is snow, but catching the often fleeting moments of alpenglow is something I love nearly as much as the moon and stars. If you look close, particulary in the large image (double click on the blog image), you can see the gold of the turning larch (decidious pine) on the mountain side as well. There are still some weeks of color left before the snow flies.

Flathead Lake getting ready for Winter
The lake level is dropping on the way to its winter low, opening up more rocky beach to explore.
Late this afternoon, Karl and I puttered on the rocks, looking at things left by the lowering lake.
