Friday stuff

Friday was grayish.

No precipitation of any kind, but it stayed gray.

All day.

Nevertheless, we all spent some time outside.

And then inside.

Lazy Friday afternoon.

Bear had a bit of an event chasing off a wandering dog.

Nap needed afer.

This video is an Auggie VERY, VERY, VERY Short: 8-barely 9 seconds… Auggie’s “through the split screen” technique. Auggie decided from the get-go that the way through the screen was a jump…so, darn cute!

Through the screen from Liz Summers on Vimeo.

And now..in a complete turnaround.

A professional video.

A Simon’s Cat video. I LOVE Simon’s Cat! Happy, Happy Friday and I hope this makes you laugh from the belly!

Waxing Gibbous

Bear and I walked at the sunset hour.

There was a pink-orange alpenglow to the East and a fiery-orange sunset to the West as we strolled through the woods.

And overhead…

A 3/4 waxing Gibbous on the way to full (4/14) and then a full lunar eclipse on 4/15…I dearly hope it is clear on 4/15.

Happy Day.

Bear and I headed to town at lunchtime. I thought I’d get a few groceries.

About a third of the way there, I decided I didn’t really feel like going all the way and doing the grocery thing.

We were approaching the road to the wild bird spot so I decided “a walk!”

I forgot the area is closed from March 1 until July 15.

BUT, the road from the highway is long and pleasant and the day was beautiful so we walked.

Along the road, one of my favorite barns…and I think they are dismantling it. I thought maybe just a new roof but as I watched for a bit, I think they are taking it apart.

So maybe the last photos of this barn that provided a lovely foreground to the mountains behind.

The road…and the sky and the clouds.

We had a glorious walk!

Spectacular clouds and sky on the road home!

And green in the fields!

Happy Day.

**Auggie caught a yellow jacket today (outside) and did NOT get stung. I dispatched it. They are slow. I’ve caught 2 in the traps. So the count so far is 5: 2 in the house, 2 in the traps and 1 by Auggie 5 queens = a potential 15-20,000 YJ’s over the summer.

A lovely day

Today there are photos!

I had 132 photos from today.

You can be grateful that I am good at editing.

Did you really want to look at 132 photos of Bear, Auggie and the yard?

Right.

Another gorgeous day of sun and blue sky and a high of 67F at my house this afternoon.

There was a brisk breeze during the afternoon and a soft, warm breeze this evening as Bear and I had our evening walk just before sunset about 8:00 p.m.

Auggie spent most of the day outside. He came in about once an hour to meow for some attention and get some food. It was after 5 when he finally seemed worn out and ready to stay in.

And a good, productive work day…

Lovely, lovely day in all respects.

Marvelous Monday

Auggie, Bear and I did indeed have a Marvelous Monday.

And there are no photos :(

I had a wonderfully productive and enjoyable workday!

The Jeep got fresh oil and tires rotated at a wonderful place in Bigfork that I should have investigated sooner…

And while the Jeeper was getting all spruced up, I spent a nice 2 hours working in the offices of a friend/colleague …located about 50 yards from the shop. I got to visit a bit with Mike and his wife, Emily and their company: BigforkWEB (www.bigforkweb.com) graciously gave me a VERY comfortable conference room to both work and participate in an internet work group meeting. Thank you BigforkWEB: Mike and Emily! One of my work group, Roberto, has also worked with BigforkWEB and BigforkWEB provided graphics for UCLA’s CapSTAR project. All in all, a good thing for all of us.

The day was sunny and temperatures were in the 60’sF. We are to have another 60’s day before a week long cold front…so we, as in Bear, Auggie and I – enjoyed…today!

And today is my folks 15th wedding anniversary and Bill’s (step-daddy :)! ) 66th birthday. They are celebrating with a ski trip in Summit County, CO. Happy, Happy Everything Mama and Bill!!!

Such a good day.

Such a good start to the week.

Marvelous Monday.

Undone

So, part of my desire to stay on track last week was to have the weekend to fix my bedroom closet door and to do my income taxes.

Re the closet door: one of the bifold door’s upper hardware pieces failed. I kind of fixed it some months ago but it did not hold up. Looking at everything, I bought an entire new set of hardware and rail for both of the doors thinking to just replace everything.

Sheesh!

MUCH worse than the island parts and instructions.

I read through everything, gathered the tools specified…

And kind of procrastinated.

Then I dug in.

And then I reconsidered.

I did take all of the failed hardware off the one door. And I found a reference to the hardware manufacturer – original hardware – on a door hinge.

I googled.

I ordered new hardware for just the one door and the one track – the original hardware – vs replacing everything with a different brand hardware.

And so, for today, the closet door fix remains undone.

But, Auggie had fun!

He put one of his birdies behind the door.

Then he tried to retrieve it the hard way. This is the game, the puzzle, the “what to do when it is cloudy and raining outside”…

Put the birdie in the tool bag!

Onward.

Income taxes.

Yuck.

It was alternately blustery and sunny.

I have NINE days left for the tax prep. Procrastinating.

Undone: closet door and income taxes.

Done: Playing outside when the sun is shining!
