Scenes from a Tuesday

No lunar eclipse photos.

I was out shortly after 1:15 a.m.

It was beautiful: 44F, stars in the sky and the eclipsed or partly clouded moon visible from the yard so no Jeep trip needed.

But the moon was so dark…I didn’t even try.

But my neighbor did – about an hour later and got the RED!!! I have to up my game for October.

Bear and I had a wonderful early (VERY early) Tuesday walk down the driveway, though.

Auggie stayed in bed until we returned and I got a cheese snack ready for all of us – he got out of bed for cheese!

A slow start to the workday after our early excursion, but got my day in.

And then it got cold.

It started raining.

Late afternoon.

Raining.

My faithful dog.

No sitting out in the chairs, this rainy evening.

Auggie kept an eye on the woods… for a little while…

And then settled for a toasty fireside nap.

Tuesday.

Some things done and some Spring

Saturday it snowed.

I worked on my taxes.

Sunday morning started at 21F!

I finished my taxes!!!

And it was sunny and it did not snow.

Monday, today, started at 25, but warmed to 57F.

Beautiful.

Mostly, courtesy of my neighbors, the firewood area is looking a bit neat. They needed a bit of firewood to finish the year and I needed to get some firewood…some that might have rotted had it gone through another summer…gone!

Win-WIN!!

I did do a bit of cleanup and I need to do some shuffling/re-stacking also. Every year I say…a couple of 15 minute sessions every day…in the yard…would be good for me and for the yard and the woods, etc.

So, again.

THREE 15 minute sessions most days is my goal! Good exercise, good breaks in my day and a little work every day gets things done.

Let’s do it!

A not so beautiful sight…Wild Thing’s windshield did NOT survive the Winter, even with my tarp…

RATS!

I knew it had to be done but I had hoped for another year.

Some things done and some Spring.

***I have my alarm set for 1:30 a.m. I very much HOPE that skies are clear. If it is not hopelessly cloudy (forecast is for an approaching front), Bear and I will go to the “Road Home” spot and see if we can see AND photograph the Lunar eclipse. The timing is so perfect. With moonrise at just after 8 p.m., the eclipse at 2:00 a.m. should be straight overhead…I hope, I hope!

Friday stuff

Friday was grayish.

No precipitation of any kind, but it stayed gray.

All day.

Nevertheless, we all spent some time outside.

And then inside.

Lazy Friday afternoon.

Bear had a bit of an event chasing off a wandering dog.

Nap needed afer.

This video is an Auggie VERY, VERY, VERY Short: 8-barely 9 seconds… Auggie’s “through the split screen” technique. Auggie decided from the get-go that the way through the screen was a jump…so, darn cute!

Through the screen from Liz Summers on Vimeo.

And now..in a complete turnaround.

A professional video.

A Simon’s Cat video. I LOVE Simon’s Cat! Happy, Happy Friday and I hope this makes you laugh from the belly!

Waxing Gibbous

Bear and I walked at the sunset hour.

There was a pink-orange alpenglow to the East and a fiery-orange sunset to the West as we strolled through the woods.

And overhead…

A 3/4 waxing Gibbous on the way to full (4/14) and then a full lunar eclipse on 4/15…I dearly hope it is clear on 4/15.

Happy Day.

Bear and I headed to town at lunchtime. I thought I’d get a few groceries.

About a third of the way there, I decided I didn’t really feel like going all the way and doing the grocery thing.

We were approaching the road to the wild bird spot so I decided “a walk!”

I forgot the area is closed from March 1 until July 15.

BUT, the road from the highway is long and pleasant and the day was beautiful so we walked.

Along the road, one of my favorite barns…and I think they are dismantling it. I thought maybe just a new roof but as I watched for a bit, I think they are taking it apart.

So maybe the last photos of this barn that provided a lovely foreground to the mountains behind.

The road…and the sky and the clouds.

We had a glorious walk!

Spectacular clouds and sky on the road home!

And green in the fields!

Happy Day.

**Auggie caught a yellow jacket today (outside) and did NOT get stung. I dispatched it. They are slow. I’ve caught 2 in the traps. So the count so far is 5: 2 in the house, 2 in the traps and 1 by Auggie 5 queens = a potential 15-20,000 YJ’s over the summer.
