{"id":93,"date":"2007-09-20T01:34:32","date_gmt":"2007-09-20T08:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fromthefrontporch.com\/WPBlog\/?p=93"},"modified":"2023-09-18T12:19:42","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T19:19:42","slug":"theres-snow-on-them-thar-hills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2007\/09\/theres-snow-on-them-thar-hills\/","title":{"rendered":"there&#8217;s snow on them thar hills&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep07\/Snow300213.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Road Home\" height=\"213\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 213px\" title=\"Road Home\" \/>I woke in the night 2 nights ago and heard rain &#8211; a good sound considering the fires and dryness of this area.\u00a0 And it was a nice gentle rain so good moisture.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday afternoon, I was driving in to town (Kalispell) &#8211; blue skies, puffy white clouds and belatedly I noticed &#8211; SNOW on the mountain tops!\u00a0 It is high &#8211; probably 3500-4000 feet higher than my home and a bit higher than that from the valley floor, but beautiful.\u00a0 Mountain tops are made to have snow on them&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>On the way to town, I stopped in Somers, MT &#8211; a little town that lives on the northwest border of Flathead Lake.\u00a0 There is a bit of an historic railroad trail that Karl and I walk.\u00a0 It&#8217;s on the way to the grocery I prefer.\u00a0 There is a restaurant along the trail and they have a garden to grow their own veg and herbs.\u00a0 The sunflowers below are from that garden &#8211; the lake and mountain view from along that trail.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep07\/SnowSunFlowers250247.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Sunflowers\" height=\"247\" style=\"width: 250px; height: 247px\" title=\"Sunflowers\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep07\/SnowLake300209.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Lake\" height=\"209\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 209px\" title=\"Lake\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I woke in the night 2 nights ago and heard rain &#8211; a good sound considering the fires and dryness of this area.\u00a0 And it was a nice gentle rain so good moisture.
