It is actually a public swimming area but there is a connection to a bike\/walk trail as well as a bit of beach away from the swimming area.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9557WaterA.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9557WaterA640426.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"426\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 426px\" title=\"\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t realize, though, that the winter lake level meant that this area was also high and dry.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9555BeachA.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9555BeachA640426.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"426\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 426px\" title=\"\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I thought Karl would be ready to run out on the exposed sand and planned on walking to the island&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9563BeachB.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9563BeachB640426.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"426\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 426px\" title=\"\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But he stuck to the &#8220;shore&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9558BeachC.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9558BeachC640426.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"426\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 426px\" title=\"\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While hazy, it was nearly 50 and he got warm and stuck to the partially shady beach area.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9569BeachD.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Apr09\/Lake9569BeachD640426.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"426\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 426px\" title=\"\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"Summers in Somers\" href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/2007\/10\/09\/summers-in-somers\/\" title=\"Summers in Somers\" rel=\"noopener\"> Summers in Somers<\/a> shows a bit of what this area looks like in the summer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center-noborder\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar09\/EndofPost64050.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" height=\"50\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 50px\" title=\"\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parking &#8211; all 3 spots ! &#8211; were full at our usual Somers walk spot (Rails to Trails) so Plan B &#8211; a small area just south of Somers.
