Friday is always something to look forward to, but during this Vendee Globe, they bring JOY to my heart and soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"#09 Weekly Recap\" width=\"658\" height=\"370\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/79UFEUzRUww?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This past week, 14 of the remaining (not retired) 27 sailors, rounded Cape Horn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will not rest completely easy until all are around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recap, above, features a meteorologist who explains some of what makes Cape Horn often a &#8220;mariner&#8217;s nightmare&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cape Horn is the 3rd and final Cape in the Vendee Globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Too late to be featured in the recap, but Pip Hare, who I mentioned in my <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2021\/01\/perspective-changed\/\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#424ff1\">January 3: Perspective changed post<\/font><\/a>,  had yet another glitch:  a crack in her port rudder stock.
