{"id":17436,"date":"2017-05-02T13:07:43","date_gmt":"2017-05-02T20:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=17436"},"modified":"2017-05-03T06:27:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-03T13:27:27","slug":"beef-and-lamb-its-whats-for-dinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2017\/05\/beef-and-lamb-its-whats-for-dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"Beef AND LAMB &#8211; it&#8217;s what&#8217;s for dinner!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A combination of beef and lamb makes for easy and delicious meatballs with just a few simple additions.<\/p>\n<p>The basic recipe:<\/p>\n<p>1 package lamb<br \/>\n1 package ground beef<br \/>\n1.5 T lemon pepper  (T = tablespoon)<br \/>\n1.5 T Italian seasoning<br \/>\n1\/2 cup finely diced onion (about 1\/2 of a medium onion:  yellow, white or sweet onion)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup breadcrumbs (you can also use cracker crumbs)<br \/>\n1 egg<\/p>\n<p>Mix all together.  Refrigerate for an hour if possible but no problem to cook immediately.<br \/>\nForm meatballs golf ball sized.<\/p>\n<p>To cook, you can bake them on a sheet pan, or &#8220;fry&#8221; them in a fry pan and then cook in gravy or tomato sauce.<\/p>\n<p>For baking:  425 oven for 15-20 minutes to internal temperature of 160 or until they are NOT pink inside.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the step by step instructions:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6552.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6552.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The meat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6553.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6553.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the ingredients.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6554.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6554.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mix the meats, spices, onion, breadcrumbs and egg.<\/p>\n<p>Your hands are the best tool for this!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6558.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6558.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Roll mixture into golf ball sized meatballs.<\/p>\n<p>See recipe above for different cooking options.<\/p>\n<p>I baked at 425 for 18 minutes.  Internal temperature was 178 and&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6559.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/May17\/Meatballs6559.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have a meat thermometer, cut one open.  It should look done with no pink inside.<\/p>\n<p>Serving options:<\/p>\n<p>You can make a gravy from the drippings and serve over rice or noodles.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Add the meatballs to tomato sauce and serve over spaghetti or any pasta OR in a roll for a meatball sandwich.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Split them and serve on small rolls &#8211; Sliders!<\/p>\n<p>***For my friends from the Bigfork Community who tried these and picked up a recipe and maybe have a question or comment, your first comment goes to moderation.
