{"id":16968,"date":"2016-08-01T07:01:24","date_gmt":"2016-08-01T13:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=16968"},"modified":"2016-08-01T07:01:24","modified_gmt":"2016-08-01T13:01:24","slug":"summer-on-the-downhill-run-hopefully","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2016\/08\/summer-on-the-downhill-run-hopefully\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer on the downhill run&#8230;hopefully"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4809.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4809.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last week of July had some heat and we dealt with it accordingly!<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully a nice cool front whooshed through on Saturday evening and the last day of July was warm, but pleasant and things cooled early enough to sleep without A\/C or fans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4811.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4811.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week saw the first summer tomatoes &#8211; real tomatoes that smell and taste like tomatoes!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4805.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Aug16\/July4805.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had a bit of smoke from Idaho yesterday, but that has cleared this morning.<\/p>\n<p>August starts significantly cooler and clearer than last year&#8217;s smokey 100F &#8211; it is 52F this morning with a high forecast of 84F.    <\/p>\n<p>We are headed to the peak of the interior west&#8217;s fire season, but not as scary dry as last year with the high country still looking quite green.
