{"id":16648,"date":"2016-02-02T09:08:41","date_gmt":"2016-02-02T15:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=16648"},"modified":"2016-02-02T09:08:41","modified_gmt":"2016-02-02T15:08:41","slug":"mid-winter-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2016\/02\/mid-winter-light\/","title":{"rendered":"Mid-Winter Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are just about half way through Winter &#8230; by the Calendar, i.e. 6 1\/2 weeks from Winter Solstice and about 7 1\/2 weeks until the Vernal Equinox.  <\/p>\n<p>There is noticeably more daylight here at 48 North Latitude: the sun&#8217;s arc a bit more northerly.  This is the sweet spot of light for me with the morning and afternoon-evening light at such an angle as to be most pleasing and peaceful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3449.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3449.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bear and I took a before supper walk in the woods at 5:00 p.m. last evening.  Just weeks ago, it would have been full dark at this time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3452.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3452.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the beautiful light, we had four inches of fresh, powdery snow &#8211; mostly from the wee hours of Monday morning.  We had freshened up our walking\/snowshoe trails at lunchtime so had an easy time on this late-in-the-day walk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3455.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3455.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Peek-a-boo snow covered mountains!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3456.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3456.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And ditto to some peachy alpenglow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3457.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Feb16\/WinterLight3457.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mid-Winter Light.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are just about half way through Winter &#8230; by the Calendar, i.e. 6 1\/2 weeks from Winter Solstice and about 7 1\/2 weeks until the Vernal Equinox.
