{"id":16275,"date":"2015-09-26T19:28:24","date_gmt":"2015-09-27T01:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=16275"},"modified":"2015-09-26T19:28:24","modified_gmt":"2015-09-27T01:28:24","slug":"friday-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2015\/09\/friday-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m writing this on Saturday evening, but it is really all about Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Montana peaches from Farmer&#8217;s market&#8230; 2 weeks ago &#8211; I had been eating them, but there were 7 of them left&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2329.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2329.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>11.9 ounces of pealed and diced peaches.<\/p>\n<p>So, I converted my peach jam recipe for 11.9 ounces vs 2.5 pounds:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/FridayJamCalc.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/FridayJamCalc.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>11.9 ounces is .2975 of 2.5 pounds so multiply the sugar and lemon juice by .2975.<\/p>\n<p>I LOVE making small batches of jam, preserves or marmalade.  It is quick, I don&#8217;t need a monster sized pot and since I am making for just me, perfect.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2330.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2330.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, dough rising for bread and ciabatta rolls.<\/p>\n<p>The kitchen smelled heavenly!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2341.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2341.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the peaches, sugar and lemon juice were simmering and the dough was rising, I sat in my kitchen chair, with Auggie on my lap and watched the sky lighten as the sun rose&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2346.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2346.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; beautiful!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2350.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2350.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And eventually there was jam and rolls and bread.<\/p>\n<p>It was just after 8:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Later, after a good work day&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2354.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2354.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Auggie as the lion king&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2356.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2356.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; or owl ears&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2359.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2359.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;or done for the day!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2361.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2361.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bear lounged on the front porch&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2362.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep15\/Friday2362.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; until he, too, was done for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m writing this on Saturday evening, but it is really all about Friday.
