{"id":16084,"date":"2015-07-28T07:54:52","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T13:54:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=16084"},"modified":"2015-07-28T07:54:52","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T13:54:52","slug":"the-turkey-is-in-the-oven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2015\/07\/the-turkey-is-in-the-oven\/","title":{"rendered":"The turkey is in the oven&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul15\/Turkey1995.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul15\/Turkey1995.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yep, Turkey in July!<\/p>\n<p>A kind of perfect storm of circumstances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the chuck roast on sale that I intended to get for my Sunday dinner was sold out.<\/li>\n<li>my favorite brand of turkey was on sale at a near Thanksgiving day price.<\/li>\n<li>the weather was forecast to be very cool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul15\/Turkey1996.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul15\/Turkey1996.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And homemade rolls!<\/p>\n<p>It took a day to thaw the bird and then my Monday work schedule got hectic, but this morning, after a Monday that didn&#8217;t break 60F&#8230;that bird went in the oven at 6:00 a.m. It should be done by 9-9:30 and then into the frig. I&#8217;ll deal with carving, etc. at lunch time and my turkey dinner will be a &#8220;heat up&#8221; when the time is right and I can enjoy.
