{"id":15700,"date":"2015-03-01T20:29:45","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T02:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=15700"},"modified":"2015-03-01T20:29:45","modified_gmt":"2015-03-02T02:29:45","slug":"yet-another-lesson-on-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2015\/03\/yet-another-lesson-on-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"Yet another lesson on perspective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March arrived in the same way that February left:  Full of sunshine!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0846.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0846.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;in more ways than just the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, I had a stomach bug.  You know the thing&#8230;24 hours of misery during which I considered pre-writing my obituary.  At about the 24 hour mark, the fever spiked, I broke out in a sweat and then&#8230;done.  I took a shower and felt like I&#8217;d never been sick.  I googled &#8220;24 hour stomach bug&#8221; and it says that it does not exist.  Huh.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, onward.  But, it kind of set the tone for the week and between this, that and the other I was feeling frustrated and annoyed and completely out of sorts.<\/p>\n<p>Then I read the news.<\/p>\n<p>And thought about my life.<\/p>\n<p>And counted my blessings:  BIG TIME!  I live in a place where I do not have to worry about walking out in my yard and being shot or bombed or kidnapped, i.e. I am safe.  I am warm.  I have plenty of food.  I have Bear and Auggie and good work.  I have a loving family and wonderful neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>There is more, but the point is that Life is Good for me and mine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0850.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0850.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And there is sunshine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0855.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0855.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am grateful for everything.  Mostly I am grateful that I have peace and safety.  I seriously cannot imagine what it must be like in some parts of the world and I found myself praying this week for those that do not have peace and safety.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0857.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Mar15\/Super0857.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Perspective is interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Mine shifted yet again.<\/p>\n<p>It was a wonderful week and weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March arrived in the same way that February left: Full of sunshine! &#8230;in more ways than just the weather.
