{"id":15486,"date":"2014-12-29T16:18:28","date_gmt":"2014-12-29T22:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=15486"},"modified":"2014-12-29T16:42:21","modified_gmt":"2014-12-29T22:42:21","slug":"staying-warm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2014\/12\/staying-warm\/","title":{"rendered":"Staying warm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The forecast was correct:  cold, windy&#8230;COLD and WINDY!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0006.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0006.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But clear skies and sun that sparkled in the trees&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0007.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0007.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And Wind that blew the snow off the trees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0016.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0016.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Auggie watched.<\/p>\n<p>He wanted out and I did let him out several times after the temperature hit 12F.  But, I kept an eye on him and a timer.  He came in before the timer all three times.<\/p>\n<p>It is COLD and WINDY!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0043.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0043.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lots of the little nuthatches out and about and they gave Auggie something to watch.<\/p>\n<p>And you can see how thick his coat is.  Like Bear, he has a double coat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0044.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0044.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although, the wind direction is such that we are mostly in its shadow, every so often a gust swirls down bringing snow off the trees:  tree avalanche.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0047.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0047.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And despite the blue sky&#8230;it is COLD and WINDY.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0060.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm0060.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bear and I had several walks.  Short walks.  But, he still took a moment for a look from Beardog Point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm9985.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm9985.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inside&#8230;a bit of baking.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm9997.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/Warm9997.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>More on this bread another time, but if you have ever been to Della Fattoria in Petaluma, this is my version of their signature bread:  Meyer Lemon &#8211; Rosemary Campagne Boule.  I&#8217;ve never tasted the original, but mine looked right and the taste &#8230; out of this world, good! (***this is my second loaf.
