{"id":15425,"date":"2014-12-09T18:21:24","date_gmt":"2014-12-10T00:21:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=15425"},"modified":"2014-12-10T06:47:46","modified_gmt":"2014-12-10T12:47:46","slug":"o-christmas-tree-the-finale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2014\/12\/o-christmas-tree-the-finale\/","title":{"rendered":"O Christmas Tree:  the finale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If these last days were Christmas Eve, you can count on it&#8230;Rudolph would have been leading the sleigh&#8230;at least in Northwest Montana.<\/p>\n<p>It has been drippy, soggy and foggy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/XmasTreeC9688.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/XmasTreeC9688.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not much fun outside for any of us!<\/p>\n<p>But to &#8220;O Christmas Tree&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday (Monday) morning, I woke to some commotion in the living room.<\/p>\n<p>I went out to find 5 snowflake ornaments on the floor under the tree&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Ok.  Not entirely unexpected.  The commotion was from Auggie jumping to get the higher snowflakes<\/p>\n<p>Still.  Not unexpected.  <\/p>\n<p>I admonished.<\/p>\n<p>I picked up the fallen snowflakes&#8230;and noticed&#8230;a LOT of needles on the floor.  Brown, dry needles.<\/p>\n<p>I knew when I put the tree up that it was a bit drier than I originally thought.  Bottom line, I took it down.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/XmasTreeC9691.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Dec14\/XmasTreeC9691.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sad, but true&#8230;the &#8220;Auggie tree top\/Christmas Tree&#8221; went 2 days.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of candidates for a replacement.  We&#8217;ll see.  I had my &#8220;real tree&#8221; fun and I have my silk tree and other things in the house.<\/p>\n<p>It is still over two weeks until Christmas so anything goes.  If I feel like doing the &#8220;real tree&#8221; for real, I&#8217;ll do it.
