{"id":14837,"date":"2014-07-20T14:33:52","date_gmt":"2014-07-20T20:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=14837"},"modified":"2014-07-21T05:32:02","modified_gmt":"2014-07-21T11:32:02","slug":"sweet-tales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2014\/07\/sweet-tales\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweet tales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past week had its challenges.  <\/p>\n<p>Those challenges led to a very underwhelming work week.<\/p>\n<p>But as difficult as the week was, it was &#8220;good&#8221; for me and it led to taking Friday &#8211; Sunday (today)&#8230;completely OFF!<\/p>\n<p>Bear and I went to town on Friday morning &#8211; EARLY!  We stopped for a walk on the way and then I took my time doing some food shopping at a few locations &#8211; locations with good shade parking and it was early.<\/p>\n<p>Then I had a chance to talk with my boss and friend of 13 years duration and also my neighbor and friend of 8 years duration and I prayed and I thought and I finally settled and let go of the light work week and took the weekend to find my peace.<\/p>\n<p>I found it.<\/p>\n<p>I found peace in the kindness and thoughtfulness of my boss, my neighbor, my folks, and the quiet of my home space&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe cannot change our past&#8230; we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you&#8230; we are in charge of our Attitudes.\u201d <em>Charles Swindoll<\/em> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Amen.<\/p>\n<p>My reaction is quiet.<\/p>\n<p>And solitude.<\/p>\n<p>And time with dear Bear and Auggie.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7570.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7570.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That tail &#8211; that tail alone makes me smile and laugh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7578.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7578.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this tail.<\/p>\n<p>This tail in sweet slumber on my bed.<\/p>\n<p>LOVE and PEACE!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7581.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7581.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And even the weather cooperated with cool temps&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7584.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7584.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and sweet rain!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7571.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jul14\/Tales7571.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sweet tails\/tales of a week that is ultimately VERY good.  I am grateful for the challenging, for the support, for the love and peace and for all lessons learned.<\/p>\n<p>Sweet tales indeed.<\/p>\n<p>*** in light of last week&#8217;s uber-light work week, this coming week will be head&#8217;s down and full speed ahead work-wise so posts may be light\/non-existent as I catch up.
