{"id":14039,"date":"2014-01-01T19:06:19","date_gmt":"2014-01-02T01:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=14039"},"modified":"2014-01-02T06:23:27","modified_gmt":"2014-01-02T12:23:27","slug":"full-of-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2014\/01\/full-of-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Full of beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, I am full of Black-eyed Peas.<\/p>\n<p>Being a die-hard Yankee from a completely Yankee family, we didn&#8217;t do Black-eyed Peas on New Year&#8217;s Day, but I saw <a target=\"Homesick Texan\u2019s New Year\u2019s Day Migas with Black-eyed Peas and Bacon\"  href =\"http:\/\/www.homesicktexan.com\/2013\/12\/migas-black-eyed-peas-bacon.html\" title=\"Homesick Texan\u2019s New Year\u2019s Day Migas with Black-eyed Peas and Bacon\"> Homesick Texan\u2019s New Year\u2019s Day Migas with Black-eyed Peas and Bacon<\/a> and decided to give it a try this year.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4687.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4687.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Black-eyed Peas on New Year&#8217;s Day are supposed to ensure a prosperous year.  A girl can always use a bit more of the ready, but actually, I would love if the prosperousness came in the way of good health for Auggie, Bear and me for this year!<\/p>\n<p>There was also a recipe on Lisa&#8217;s blog for <a target=\"Black-eyed Pea and Chorizo soup\"  href =\"http:\/\/www.homesicktexan.com\/2010\/12\/black-eyed-pea-and-chorizo-soup.html\" title=\"Black-eyed Pea and Chorizo soup\">Black-eyed Pea and Chorizo soup<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I decided if one meal of black-eyed peas was good, a second would be even better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4693.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4693.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t see the peas, but they are in there!<\/p>\n<p>Both meals were delicious.  I&#8217;m full.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4689.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Jan14\/NYLuck4689.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Auggie was trying to catch up on sleep&#8230;  Our down the road neighbor that can&#8217;t celebrate the 4th of July or New Year&#8217;s Eve without LOUD fireworks, kept us up until past midnight.  <\/p>\n<p>It will be an early night tonight as we all need to catch up.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, I am full of Black-eyed Peas.
