{"id":13532,"date":"2013-09-10T19:14:45","date_gmt":"2013-09-11T01:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/?p=13532"},"modified":"2013-09-10T19:14:45","modified_gmt":"2013-09-11T01:14:45","slug":"promises-promises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beardogco.com\/theroadhome\/2013\/09\/promises-promises\/","title":{"rendered":"Promises, promises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every week NOAA says that &#8220;next week&#8221; will be cooler and then as next week approaches&#8230;NOT!<\/p>\n<p>It is not as hot as it had been, but it is still 10-15 degrees above normal for the 2nd week of September in Northwest Montana!<\/p>\n<p>Some time ago, I stopped watering the grass&#8230;  I noticed that the yellow jackets gravitated toward water sources so I decided to dry things up and see if that helped.<\/p>\n<p>I brought in the herbie watering can, the boys&#8217; water bowl (the boys were not out anyway), and shut down the sprinklers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2774.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2774.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The good news is I haven&#8217;t had to mow!!  I think I mowed 4 times before shutting things down.  Oh, well.<\/p>\n<p>The bad news is that it didn&#8217;t help the yellow jacket situation AND I lost my cilantro on Beardog Hill &#8211; <strong>not<\/strong> a show stopper for this summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2776.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2776.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today, the high was 76F at my house&#8230;and an abundance of sun and blue sky.<\/p>\n<p>Not horrible but it should be 66F!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2779.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2779.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But, Bear and I got outside a bit more than we have been.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2780.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2780.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still&#8230;we got hot&#8230; and the yellow jackets &#8211; Bear likes them about as much as I do.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2781.jpg\" target=\"Large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beardogco.com\/WPBlog\/blogimages\/Sep13\/Outside2781.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inside sounded like a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>NOAA&#8230;and Fall&#8230;Promises, promises!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every week NOAA says that &#8220;next week&#8221; will be cooler and then as next week approaches&#8230;NOT!
